CROSSROADS HISTORY & BEGINNING

It was a routine outing with the church family, in May of 2013. As the day drew to a close, several of the church leaders were discussing the value of having a Bible camp available to kids in our local area.

Realizing that camping is a great way to reach kids with the gospel message of faith, hope, and love, and that nothing was available in the greater Bangor area for a full range of outdoor and camping activities, Youth Pastor, Rod Buswell informed the group that the former Camp Molly Molasses was vacant and for sale.

Miracles began to happen! In just a few weeks, the East Eddington Community Church voted to buy the property, and enough money was raised for the down payment, and Crossroads Christian Camp was on the road to reality!

Throughout the summer of 2013, an enthusiastic crowd of dedicated volunteers has invested hundreds of hours in preparing the grounds and buildings for the opening in June of 2014. Over the winter and into the spring, in the Lodge there was re-wiring, re-plumbing, insulating, pine boards on walls, new main room ceiling with lights and fans, a directors apartment, 2 new bathrooms, upgrade of the archery court, tore up the ball field grass and replanted it, picnic tables revitalized, the Craft building received new lights, a 3 camper trailer lot installed and the list goes on.
